What is IAS?

Ye to hum aapko pahle hi bata chuke hai ki IAS ka matlab hai – Indian Administrative Service. UPSC ke behad muskil Civil Services Examination (CSE) ko clear karne ke baad ek saal kadi mehnat bhari training clear karke ek candidate IAS banta hai, jise IAS Officer kaha jaata hai. Jab officer IAS ke liye select ho jata hai to usse kyi diverse roles (jokhim) nibhane padte hai. Jaise Collector, Commissioner, Head of Public Sector Units, Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretary etc ki post se ho kar gujarna hota hai. IAS sirf ek lajawab experience aur Challenge hi nhi hai balki India ke Lakhon – Crodon (लाखों-करोड़ों) zindagi me positive changes laane ka jariya bhi hai. Isliye IAS ko ek unique aur behad maan-maryada wala career maana jaata hai.

History

British rule ke dauran Indian Civil Service 1858 and 1947 ke beech ke period me India me British Empire ke Higher Civil Services the. Vo civil services 2 categories me divide ho gayi – Covenanted and Uncovenanted. Covenanted civil service me government ki higher posts ke liye sirf white British civil servants ko hi rakha jaata tha. Aur Uncovenanted civil service puri tarah se administration ke lower rank par Indians ke entry ki facilitate ke liye start ki gayi thi. 1947 me India ke partition or British ke jaane ke time, Indian Civil Service new Dominions of India and Pakistan ke beech divide ho gaya. Jis part me India gaya vahan par Indian Administrative Service ka naam diya or jahan Pakistan vale gaye vahan Civil Service of Pakistan ka naam de diya gaya.

How To Become An IAS Officer?

IAS officer banane ke liye IAS exam clear karna padta hai, which is officially called as UPSC Civil Services Exam (UPSC CSE). Is exam ke 3 stages hote hai – (1) Prelims, (2) Mains aur (3)Interview. IAS ka competition easy to nahi hai but right attitude or approach vale candidate ke liye impossible bhi nahi hai.

UPSC Exam me select hone aur Interview process clear karne ke baad selected candidates ko ek saal ki Training liye LBSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration), Mussoorie bheja jaata hai. Training complete karne ke baad ek IAS Officer apni first duty, Junior Time Scalegrade se shuru karta hai.

Qualifications Required to Apply for IAS Exam

Educational Qualifications

IAS ke exam appear hone se pahle kisi bhi candidate ko kisi Government Recognized University se minimum pass marks ke saath Graduation karni padti hai.

Age Limit
- General : General category ka ek candidate minimum 21 Years and maximum 32 Years (21-32) ki age me IAS ki pariksha de sakta hai.
- OBC : Other Backward Class ke ek candidate ke liye maximum age limit 3 saal jyada hoti ha. Yani is category ka candidate 35 years ki age tak IAS exam de sakta hai.
- SC/ST : SC aur ST category ke candidates ke liye upper age limit 5 years extra hoti hai, matlab SC/ST category ke IAS aspirants 37 ki age tak UPSC exam de sakte hai.

Number of Attempts Allowed in IAS Exam

For General Category Candidate = Six (6)
For OBC category candidate = Nine (9)
For SC/ST category candidate : No limit till age of 37 years.

Civil Services Examination (CSE)

Government agency UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) IAS exam conduct karti hai aur isse judi har cheez ke liye responsible hoti hai. Is tarah Law and Order service ke liye right candidates ko select karti hai. Har saal 24 combined (24 alag-alag) services ke liye 1000 candidates ko select kiya jata hai. 2014 me IAS exam ke liye apply karne waale candidates ki sankhya around 9 lakh thi, jinme se 4-5 lakh candidates hi exam day me dikhayi dete hai.

Is exam ko world ke sabse toughest (muskil) exam me se ek maana jaata hai, kyuki is exam me Lengthy Syllabus, Depth or Competition shamil hota hai. Exam ka first stage – Preliminary (Objective) – August me conducted kiya jata hai, aur second stage – Mains (written) hota hai – conducted around December. Jo candidate Pre + Mains exam ko clear kar leta hai vo April-May ke period me Interview (personality ke test) face karta hai. Aur is sabke baad final result June me aata hai.

इस परीक्षा की तैयारी के प्रारंभ मे अभ्यार्थी को सर्वप्रथम एन०सी०ई०आर०टी० (NCERT) की किताबों का अध्ययन करना होगा, जिससे छात्र अपनी आधारभूत, विश्लेषणात्मक व भाषा की समझ और क्षमता का भी विकास कर पायेगा। साथ ही साथ सिविल सेवा परीक्षा के पाठ्यक्रम का अध्ययन भी इस परीक्षा की तैयारी की दृष्टि से अति आवश्यक है, याद रहे कि योजना और रणनीति के अनुसार ही सभी प्रकार के अध्ययन कार्य का अनुपालन करना होता है। आम तौर पर यह पाया गया है कई छात्र अपनी स्नातक शिक्षा में चयनित विषयों मे से ही एक विषय इस परीक्षा के मुख्य चरण के लिये चुनते है, और विषय निर्धारित करने के उपरांत अभ्यार्थी को अपनी स्नातक शिक्षा के चलते ही चयनित वैकल्पिक विषय का अध्ययन शुरू कर देना होता है। इसके लिये छात्र उस विषय के अनुरूप किताबें व अध्ययन सामग्री का चयन कर सकते हैं।

सिविल सेवा परीक्षा की तैयारी के लिये अभ्यार्थियों को कई प्रकार की अध्ययन सामग्री व विषय क्षेत्रों जैसे समसामयिक मुद्दो के लिये द-हिन्दू, ईण्डियन एक्सप्रेस जैसे न्यूज़ पेपर (समाचार पत्रों) व बीबीसी / डीडी न्यूज बुलेटिन (BBC or DD News) इत्यादि का दैनिक उपयोग करना होता है। और इसी प्रकार की अध्ययन प्रणाली से छात्र समसामयिक मुद्दो की तैयारी करते हैं जो कि परीक्षा में सफलता पाने के दृष्टिकोण से लाभदायक सिद्ध होता है। गत वर्षों में प्रारंभिक परीक्षा प्रश्नपत्र में समसामयिक मुद्दो से संबंधित प्रश्नों का अच्छा अनुपात रहा है अत: यह अध्ययन सामग्री का यह भाग अतिमहत्वपूर्ण होता है। छात्रों को यह चाहिये कि वे अध्ययन के लिये उचित पुस्तकों का चयन करें और उनका समुचित तरीके से अध्ययन करे। यह भी जरूरी है कि प्रारंभ मे उच्चस्तरीय किताबों के बदले छात्र उन किताबों से अध्ययन करे जिनमें सरल व बुनियादी जानकारी दी गयी हो, जैसे एन०सी०ई०आर०टी० और एन०आई०ओ०एस० (NIOS) की पुस्तकें जो की आनलाईन नि:शुल्क भी उपलब्ध हैं। बुनियादी व आधारभूत जानकारी का अध्ययन करने के पश्चात छात्र उस विषय के लिये विस्तृत अध्ययन हेतु उपयुक्त पुस्तकों व अध्ययन सामग्री का उपयोग कर सकते हैं।

याद रखने योग्य कुछ महत्वपूर्ण बातें

याद रहे कि इस परीक्षा में विषयों का चयन एक अतिमहत्वपूर्ण चरण होता है और इसी पर आपकी तैयारी व सफलता निर्धारित होती है, अत: विषय चुनते समय स्वयं ही निर्णय लें क्योंकि किसी भी विषय का अध्ययन असंभव नही है, अपितु अभ्यार्थी की उस विषय में रुचिही सफलता पाने का प्रथम व मूलभूत आधार है। सिविल सेवा परीक्षा का पाठ्यक्रम विशाल होने के कारण हमें वर्ष भर अध्ययन करना होगा, और इसलिए आपको इस योजना को सफल बनाने के लिये कठिन प्रयास करने होंगे और इसीसे आप इस विशालकाय पाठ्यक्रम को सफलता पूर्वक पूरा कर सकेंगे। इसलिये अध्ययन अवधी को धीरे-धीरे बढ़ाये और परीक्षापयोगी तथ्यों का रट्टा मारने के बजाय उसकी विषयवस्तु को समझें और अपनी अवधारणात्मक समझ को बढ़ायें तभी इस परीक्षा में सफलता पाना संभव हो सकता है।

Ye ranking har baar, cut off ke according change hoti hai. Sabse highest rank IAS ke liye hote hai or phir IPS ke liye.

2. IPS Officer Kis Department Ke Liye Kaam Karti Hai?

IPS officer State or Central government dono ke liye kaam karta hai, but dono me uski service alag hoti hai. Central government mein ek IPS officer, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Central Bureau of Investigation, Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) etc. jaise organization ko serve karta hai, jab ki State Government me Assistant Superintendent of Police (shuru mein) and the Director General of Police (retirement ke time pe) jaise organisation ko serve karta hai.

3. Eligibility Criteria Kya Hota?

IPS exam ki jo special condition hai, wo ye ki aapko Indian Citizen hona zaroori hota hai. Male or female dono iss test ke liye appear ho sakte hai. Ab aapko batate hai, IPS Banne Ke Liye Age Limit and Qualification Criteria kya hai.

IPS ke liye aapke pass kam se kam graduation degree honi chahiye.

Iske ilawa agar aapka last year hai graduation degree ka toh bhi aap, IPS ke exam ke liye baith sakte ho.

6. IPS Exam Ka Kya Pattern Hota Hai?

UPSC exam three step me conduct karta hai. Jis me ek exam clear karne ke baad aap dusra exam me appear honge, is tarah se aapko exam ke three level clear karne hai. Ye three level, Prelim, Main exam, Interview. Ye teen level karte he agar aapka rank acha aata hai toh IPS steam me enter kar chuke ho.
