Secret of Success – सफलता का रहस्य

एक कवि किसी प्रसिद्द और सफल मूर्तिकार से मिलने गया. उसकी कला वाटिका में उपस्थित शिल्प की सराहना करते हुए उसने मूर्तिकार से पूछा, “आपकी अद्वितीय कला का रहस्य क्या है?वह कौन सा दर्शन है जो आपको ये अनूठे शिल्प और मूर्तियाँ बनाने के लिए प्रेरित करता है?”

“तुम वह रहस्य जानना चाहते हो?”, मूर्तिकार ने कहा, “मैं तुम्हें वह अवश्य बताऊँगा. कुछ दिन मेरे साथ रुको”.

कवि कई सप्ताह तक वहां रहकर चुपचाप सारा घरेलू काम करता रहा. वह खाना बनाता, कपड़े धोता, साफ़-सफाई करता रहा लेकिन उसने कुछ भी न कहा.

एक दिन, मूर्तिकार ने कवि से कहा, “मैं तुम्हें जो कुछ भी सिखा सकता था वह तुम सीख गए हो”.

“ऐसा कैसे हो सकता है?”, कवि ने अचंभे से कहा, “इतने दिनों तक मैं आपके कहने पर यहाँ रुका रहा और एक शब्द भी कहे बिना आपका सारा घरेलू काम करता रहा लेकिन मुझे आपकी कला और शिल्प के बारे में कुछ भी जानने-सीखने को नहीं मिला.”

“तुमने वह सारा काम एक शब्द भी बोले बिना किया न?”, कलाकार ने कहा, “वही मेरी सफलता का रहस्य है. अब जाओ”.

निराशा के बादल छंटने पर कवि को यह समझ में आ गया कि उसने वाकई अमूल्य शिक्षा पाई थी और उसने इसे अपने क्षेत्र में प्रयुक्त किया”.

A poet visited a famous and successful sculptor. Walking around in his studio among beautiful sculptures, he asked: “What is the secret to great sculpture? What is your philosophy behind making these great works of art?”

“Do you want to know the secret?” the sculptor asked. “Let me show you.”

For many weeks, the poet would stay and do everything from sweeping the floor to cleaning up, from making coffee to cooking meals.

One day, the sculptor said: “You have learned everything I can teach you.”

“Wait a minute, I’ve done everything you said without asking any questions.” The poet protested. “But I haven’t learned anything about sculpture yet! All I did was clean.”

“You did the work without asking questions.” the sculptor said. “That is the secret of my success. Now, go!”

After the disappointment subsided, the poet concluded he had learned a valuable lesson and applied it in his own trade.
